Ministry Safe

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” - Matthew 19:14

The safety of our children, youth and vulnerable adults is of the utmost priority at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church. We do not want anything to hinder a young person's relationship with God.

All of the adults who volunteer in our children's and youth ministries are required to complete our MinistrySafe training, which includes:

  • Minimum of 6 months as a member or regular attender of AHUMC
  • Viewing MinistrySafe sexual abuse prevention videos
  • Completing a background check
  • Checked references
  • Personal interview
  • Completing our in-house training on our church's MinistrySafe policy

Our MinistrySafe policy is designed to not only ensure that we are creating a safe place for our children and youth, but also to help those who work with children and youth recognize the signs of abuse and seek help, if needed.

In addition to our MinistrySafe policy, we strive to create a safe environment for our children and youth at all times. We ask that parents ensure that their children and youth are supervised at all times while attending church as a family. Thank you!
