Worship
Worship of our God is the foundation of all that we do at Arlington Heights UMC. Each week, we offer two worship services on Sunday morning. Both services follow a traditional liturgical style; however, there are distinctions between the services:
8:30 a.m. Worship includes Prayers of the People. We also celebrate Communion each Sunday at this service.
10:50 a.m. Worship includes the full Chancel Choir. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. All people are welcome to receive Communion at our church.
Music inspires our souls and helps us worship our God. The music for our services is rich and varied, including: organ, full choir, small ensembles, hand bell choirs, and various instrumental pieces.
Sermons at Arlington Heights UMC are intentionally developed to help congregants learn more about the Bible. You are encouraged to bring your own Bible. Pew Bibles are also available.
We welcome children in worship!
- A Children’s Sermon is shared at each service. Our children are encouraged to bring a donation for Heifer International.
- Care for children through pre-kindergarten is available in our nursery during both service times.
- Once a month, Children’s Church is offered during the 10:50 a.m. service for children grades K-5.
- Children’s worship bags are available at the doors of the Sanctuary, with special worship sheets and activities for children.
- Children in grades 4-7 who have received training serve as Acolytes at the 10:50 a.m. service.
- Children’s choirs sing in both services throughout the year.
